The Refresher Course

If you are a certified diver and have been out of the water for a while, a really smart thing to do is to take a refresher class. Depending on how long it has actually been, time can change many things from equipment to the way in which some skills are performed. We take a refresher course diver into the pool with one of our highly experienced instructors and go over all the basic skills and emergency procedures. Then, as needed and/or requested, we also offer a half or full day of ocean diving to ensure that our clients are safe and comfortable in the water.

Of course the first step is an Open Water or Scuba Diver certification but that is just the beginning, almost like a license to learn.

Advanced Diver

You may jump right into an Advanced Diver class which comprises up to six additional dive adventures under the supervision of an experienced instructor while you (sorry) get your feet wet. These dives include a a deep dive and a navigation dive and may include a night dive, a search and recovery dive, an underwater naturalist dive, and a boat dive to name but a few of the options.

Rescue Diver

The next step is Rescue Diver, which gives you further training in helping yourself and helping others. More skills make you a better, safer, happier diver.

Specialties

Specialties include but are not limited to: Boat Diver, Dry Suit Diver, Underwater Naturalist, Underwater Navigation, Deep Diver, Multilevel Diver, Night Diver, Altitude Diver, Boat Diver, Drift Diver, Search & Recovery Diver, Wreck Diver, Underwater Photographer, Underwater Naturalist, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Equipment Specialist, Dive Propulsion Vehicle, Underwater Photographer, Underwater Videographer, Nitrox or Enriched Air and so on.

Then a decision can be made. If you want to go up the ladder to the professional side of scuba you can decide to become a Dive Master and/or Assistant Instructor. If having fun and being the best recreational diver you can be is more to your liking you may take Specialty Courses and eventually become a Master Scuba Diver.

Master Scuba Diver

Once you have your advanced and rescue certifications and five specialties you may become a Master Scuba Diver. The course teaches you much of the material the scuba instructors learn.

Leadership Level Certifications

Divemasters supervise experienced divers and are able to assist instructors with certain aspects of dive training. They are certified assistants. Assistant instructors have a little more latitude and may assist instructors in more areas. They are also certified assistants.

First Aid, CPR and AED

We offer First Aid, CPR and AED (automated external defibrillator) from the Red Cross and the American Health and Safety Institute. These classes are important for anyone but especially for care givers. We also offer group classes for business and industry that are OSHA and CALOSHA compliant.
