Private Lessons

The Premier Private Client

We have a multi-tiered approach at Premier Scuba Diving.

Approach number one is the Premier Private Client. This is a personalized, private, custom tailored service in which all the details are taken care of for the client. We come to your home or office to take care of paperwork and get your sizes for equipment. We set up a custom schedule that meets your particular needs and desires and we bring a selection of premium personal equipment to your home or office for your examination. You may choose to use our equipment for your certification class or purchase your own. All necessary equipment is included in your class. (Personal equipment includes: mask, snorkel, fins, boots and gloves. Most destinations at which you might dive will have the tanks and regulators and other major equipment available for rental but sometimes don’t offer personal gear) We highly recommend purchasing your own personal gear, the mask is then one you have chosen that fits your face, the snorkel is your own and you then become comfortable and familiar with your own equipment. Renting and trying different styles and brands of the larger items allows you to make more informed decisions should you choose to purchase your own at some point.

Academic work can be accomplished on-line or on your own computer at your own pace or, for our Premier Private Clients, if they so choose, a multi-agency, highly experienced instructor will come to your home or office and work with you on the material, again, at a pace of your own choosing.

Confined water or pool sessions may of course be conducted in the client’s own facility although we do require at least eight feet of depth for training purposes as per all of the certification agency’s standards. Or you may choose our pool. Our pool is located at one of L.A.’s finest private athletic clubs. The swimming pool is a 25 meter half Olympic size pool with a flat bottom and 12 feet of depth, it is crystal clear and maintained at a temperature between 82 and 84 degrees F. There is secure parking, locker facilities, towels as well as a snack bar, restaurant and a very comfortable bar/lounge for afterwards.

Most certification agencies require four or five scuba dives in the open water for final certification. This may be accomplished in a number of ways. California offers world class diving near our Channel Islands. Santa Catalina Island has one of the world’s first dedicated underwater parks, the Casino Point Underwater Park located right in Avalon. There are also many dive boats that depart from local ports like San Pedro, Long Beach, Ventura and even Santa Barbara that visit Catalina as well as the other Channel Islands like Anacapa and Santa Cruz to name but two.

Another option is to do your open water dives at a warm water dive destination. There are literally hundreds of possibilities ranging from the relatively close like Cozumel and Cabo San Lucas and La Paz in Mexico to Central America, the Caribbean, and destinations in the South Pacific or even as far as the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. You may bring your instructor with you to finish your certification or be referred to an instructor at the destination of your choice. Of course we would prefer to accompany you so as to insure your safety and assure ourselves of your thorough and complete training.
